Meet Apple’s iPad Mini!
As trends go, it seems that smartphones sizes are getting larger while tablets are shrinking. Apple has embraced this by introducing a smaller version of its popular iPad, the iPad Mini, just unveiled today.
If you already have an iPad, do you need an iPad Mini? Well, it seems that it really all comes down to your preferences for feel and accessibility – as Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing says, it’s "fantastic for kicking back and reading a magazine.”
How mini is the iPad Mini? The screen is 7.9-inches diagonally and about as thin as a pencil, or 7.2mm. And it weighs in at only .68 lbs which is 53% lighter than the fourth generation iPad. The internals of the iPad Mini are largely the same as the iPad 2.
So how do you get your hands on one? According to Apple’s website you can pre-order yours starting October 26th or buy the Wi-Fi model at an Apple Retail Store starting at 8:00 a.m. on November 2nd. The starting price is $329 and Wi-Fi + Cellular models are scheduled to be available sometime in mid November.
Are any of you planning to purchase an iPad Mini?
