Coming Soon: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and New PureGear Products

Earlier today, Apple marketing chief Philip Schiller took to the stage at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in the company’s hometown, Cupertino, CA, to announce the launch of some innovative products. Schiller started off by unveiling Apple’s larger and thinner new phones, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, as well as the Apple Watch and a mobile payment system. We’ve recapped some of the new phones’ most interesting innovations, and also give a glimpse of some of our exciting new products built specially for the new phone.

iPhone 6 & iPhone Plus

  •  The iPhone 6 will come with a 4.7” Retina HD Display screen, while the Plus features a 5.5” Retina HD Display with a special one-handed mode. The new iPhones will run 25%  faster than last year’s model. 
  •  Users will be able to use a Wi-Fi connection instead of a traditional cellular network to make phone calls. 
  •  With a two year contract, the 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB iPhone 6 will retail for $199, $299 and $399 respectively. The 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB iPhone 6 Plus will retail for $299, $399, and $499 respectively. 

Apple Pay

  •  Apply Pay will allow users to add a card to their iTunes account, which will add the data to Passport so they can pay using their phone.
  •  Information will be kept safe through Touch ID and a Secure Element chip

Camera

  •  The new phones will both feature an eight megapixel camera with optical image stabilization to compensate for pictures taken with shaky hands or from moving vehicles. 
  •  A new burst mode will let users take 10 photos within a second, and then choose the one that looks best.

iOS 8

  •  New additions such as Handoff will let users start writing an email on their iPhone, then finish it on an iPad or Apple computer. 
  •  The system will also feature iCloud Drive, a device-agnostic way for users to share and store files.  

HealthKit and HomeKit

  •  The HealthKit app aggregates information from other fitness apps to track steps taken, and daily food intake.
  •  HomeKit lets users connect various devices in one spot to control door locking, light dimming, etc. through the app, and by using Siri. 

iPhone 5s &iPhone 5c

  •  An 8GB iPhone 5s will now at $99 on contract, and the 5c will now be free on contract. 
  •  Starting September 17, these phones will also ship with iOS 8.

PureGear Products for iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus

  •  The colorful Slim Shell features new metal volume and power buttons for easier access. Available for both models.
  •  The DualTek Extreme Shock Case provides superior protection with an ergonomic grip and shock-resistant corners. Available for both models.
  •  The HIP Case+ features a versatile 4-in-1 system with a 2-slot ID, key or card holder, 180-degree rotating clip, kickstand, and rubberized grip. Available for iPhone 6 only.
  •  The Express Folio balances style and functionality, with a canvas or faux leather finish, plus three built-in ID or credit card slots and a magnetic flap that doubles as a kickstand. Available for both models.
  •  The PureTek Roll-On Screen Shield Kit is the first of its kind to offer a patented application tray and roller for easy application of Anti-Fingerprint, and Glass screen shields. Available for both models.
